Review Policy
Why reviews matter here: buying from Japan works best when sellers know other collectors are watching. Reviewers can attach their own proof, and the community keeps sellers honest. That accountability is why PACTCG exists.
How reviews work on PACTCG, in short:
- These are community reviews, written by buyers about the independent Japanese sellers they bought boxes from. Good or bad, they stay up.
- We never hide or delete a review because it's negative. We remove only spam (including reviews posted on the wrong seller), abuse or personal information.
- PACTCG may reply in public and mark a review "Under review" or "Resolved". Counterfeit and not-as-described claims are handled privately. Email us at admin@pacardexchange.com.
Reviews come from buyers, about Japanese sellers
The sellers on PACTCG are independent shops and collectors in Japan. Reviews are written by people who bought boxes from them, to help other collectors decide who to buy from.
Anyone who bought from a seller listed on PACTCG can write one on our review form. You don't need to have ordered through PACTCG. If you ordered through PACTCG, sign in and open Account → Reviews. Your completed orders are listed there, and the review form fills in your order details for you.
You pick the seller, describe the order (for example the set, the number of boxes and when you bought) and rate the seller. Reviews go live right away, with no approval step.
We don't confirm purchases, so proof is shown openly
These are community reviews. PACTCG doesn't currently confirm purchases or screen reviews automatically. Every review needs an email address, and our team keeps an eye out for sellers reviewing themselves. If you think a review is fake or was written by the seller, email admin@pacardexchange.comand we'll remove it if it breaks this policy.
You can attach proof if you have it, such as screenshots of your messages with the seller or photos of the boxes when they arrived. It's optional. Reviews with screenshots or photos attached show a Proof provided tag, so you can see at a glance which ones include them.
You post under a Pokémon reviewer name, like "Anonymous Bulbasaur", so your real name isn't shown. We ask for your email with every review and keep it private; it's never shown on your review.
Your review card shows the order details you enter, such as the set, the number of boxes and the month. Order amounts and payment methods are shown on review cards too.
We keep negative reviews up
A 1-star review is as useful to other collectors as a 5-star one, so we publish both. We never hide a review, push it down the list or change its wording because it's critical of a seller.
We remove a review only if it is:
- Spam, such as ads, repeated copies of the same review, or a review posted on the wrong seller
- Abusive, such as harassment, threats or hate
- Sharing personal information, such as someone's address, phone number or private messages that identify them
We keep a record when we remove one. We never edit a reviewer's words.
How star ratings and the seller average work
Each review gives the seller an overall rating from 1 to 5 stars. Reviews can also rate item accuracy, shipping speed and communication. Those show as labels on the card to help you read it, but they don't count toward the average.
A seller's average is a simple mean of the overall star ratings on all published reviews, shown to one decimal with the number of reviews next to it, for example 4.4 (7). Negative reviews count exactly like positive ones, and so do reviews marked "Under review" or "Resolved". A reply from PACTCG or a status badge never changes a rating, the average or the count.
The only reviews that drop out of the average and the count are ones we remove for the reasons above: spam (including reviews posted on the wrong seller), abuse or personal information. A low rating is never one of those reasons.
On the reviews page, you can filter by seller or by set to find the reviews that matter to you.
When PACTCG replies, and what the badges mean
Sometimes we'll post a short public reply under a review, labeled Response from PACTCG. We keep replies neutral and factual. We don't take sides in public, and we never post private order details.
A review may also carry a status badge next to its date:
- Under review: PACTCG is looking into this.
- Resolved:PACTCG has closed its review of this report. It doesn't say who was right.
The review itself, its rating and its text stay exactly as the buyer wrote them. Seller replies are planned.
Received a fake or not-as-described box? Tell us privately
If you think a box you received is counterfeit, resealed or not what the seller described, email admin@pacardexchange.com. Please include:
- the seller's name or handle and roughly when you ordered
- photos or video of the box, the shrink wrap and seal, and any batch code
- your invoice or order confirmation, and any messages with the seller
Evidence stays private. Only the PACTCG team sees it, and it never appears on the review or anywhere public. We may mark your review "Under review" while we look into it.
What happens next depends on how you ordered:
- Ordered through PACTCG: we support you directly and work through it with you and the seller.
- Ordered directly from the seller: we do our best to hold the seller accountable, and your review stays up so other buyers can see it.
We can't promise a response time or a particular outcome, but we do our best on every report. What we can promise is that your review stays up while we look into it.
You're welcome to leave a review about it too. Keeping the evidence and the investigation in email helps us keep both sides' private details safe.
Edits and timestamps
Every review shows when it was posted. If PACTCG edits a reply, the reply keeps its original time and adds "edited" with the time of the change.
We never change a reviewer's words. Buyers can't edit or delete their own review yet. We're planning to let you edit your review after logging in.
Reporting a review
If a review breaks the rules above (spam, including reviews posted on the wrong seller, abuse or personal information), email admin@pacardexchange.comwith a link to the review and a line on what's wrong. Sellers can report reviews the same way.
We'll check it against this policy and do our best to help resolve it. Being negative, or a seller disagreeing with it, isn't a reason to remove a review.
Karma points for honest reviews, whatever the rating
Reviewers earn Karma points for any honest review, whatever the star rating; we never pay for or reward positive reviews.
