Methodology

Seller asks as of Oct 21, 2026, 8:24 AM PT. TCGplayer market from Oct 20, 2026. ¥157.88 = $1 (ECB, Oct 21).

Where the prices come from

Lowest ask is the cheapest sealed-box price posted today by an active Japanese seller on PACTCG. Sellers with an open counterfeit claim, inactive sellers and hidden accounts are excluded. Each seller counts once per set (their lowest ask). Asks are before shipping, fees and duties.

TCGplayer market is the latest market price for the matching English-language listing, from TCGCSV. A set with no ask today shows its last ask for up to 7 days, labelled with its date; after that it shows a dash.

Exchange rate

Yen and dollar amounts are converted at the European Central Bank USD/JPY reference rate for the date shown. If no ECB rate is available we say so and label the rate as indicative. History uses each day's own ECB rate. When the rate moves, every gap moves with it, so price alerts can fire on a currency move alone.

Gap, saves and change
TCGplayer ¥ = TCGplayer market $ × USD/JPYGap % = (Lowest ask ¥ − TCGplayer ¥) ÷ TCGplayer ¥Saves ¥ = TCGplayer ¥ − ask ¥ (shown only when positive)7d / 30d = (today's lowest ask ÷ lowest ask 7 or 30 days earlier) − 1

Negative gap means the Japanese ask is below TCGplayer. Solid green marks asks 30% or more below. If a past day has no data we look back at most 2 days; otherwise the change shows a dash. Missing days are never filled in.

JBX: Japanese Booster Box index
JBX = Σ(lowest ask ¥ × TCGplayer $) ÷ Σ(TCGplayer $)

A value-weighted average of the lowest Japanese ask across regular expansions that have both an ask and a TCGplayer price that day. High-class and special sets (for example SV2a, S8a, M6A) are left out so a few premium boxes don't dominate. Fewer than 10 qualifying sets means the index is unavailable that day. The 90-day line appears once there are 30 days of history.

JBX gap applies the same weights to TCGplayer: (JBX − weighted TCGplayer ¥) ÷ weighted TCGplayer ¥.

Landed cost

Boxes at the seller's ask, converted at the ECB rate with checkout rounding, plus estimated shipping ($50 international shipping for a 5-box order). Card payments add a 5% service fee on boxes and shipping; Wise is 0%. Minimum 5 boxes per seller.

Import duties and taxes, if any, are paid to the carrier on arrival and aren't part of your total. The calculator shows an estimate on its own line using typical rates for your country.

Updates

Seller asks refresh through the day as sellers update their price lists; TCGplayer prices refresh daily. This page rebuilds within 15 minutes of each update. Ties on price are ordered by most reviews.
