Start Deck 100 Battle Collection is the MEGA-era follow-up to Japan's original Start Deck 100. It's built for new players, but a few cards numbered above the main list have turned it into a collector chase too. Here's how it works, which cards matter and whether it's worth buying. Updated Oct 13, 2026.

How the decks work
Each product contains one deck, which is one of 100 different numbered decks. Each deck is a fixed 60-card list, so once you know the deck number, you know every card in it. A deck has several copies of some cards, as constructed decks do, and at least 2 Pokémon ex.
Deck 001, for example, is a Fire deck built around Mega Charizard Y ex and Reshiram ex. You need two decks to play a match.

What's guaranteed
Each product is one fixed 60-card deck with at least 2 Pokémon ex. Which deck you get isn't something you choose. There are no booster packs inside, so the box hit pattern for sealed Japanese booster boxes doesn't apply.
Is it worth it?
- For players: yes. A full 60-card deck for ¥891 is one of the cheapest ways into the Japanese game.
- For collectors: only as a low-cost gamble. The cards numbered above 742 carry most of the value, and you can't choose your deck.
- For one card: buy the single. It's almost always cheaper than chasing a specific deck.
